On December 13-14, the "SAFE project Cooperative Training and Highland Vegetable Production and Marketing Matchmaking Conference" was successfully held in Yinchuan Baoshilid Hotel. As a part of the EU's "Switch Asia" sustainable production and consumption promotion project, this event was jointly organized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the China Chain Store and Franchise Association (CCFA), covering Yinchuan, Shizuishan, Wuzhong, Zhongwei, Guyuan and other areas of the Ningxia Autonomous Region, with 131 professional cooperatives in 21 districts, counties and cities. Municipal level, 131 professional cooperatives and village collective main units to participate, and from the Institute of Agriculture Economics and Development and the The Institute of Vegetables and Flowers Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute , China Agricultural University and other scientific research institutes, as well as Shanghai Vegetable Group, Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group, Shenzhen Pagoda, Mingkang Hui, and other market-end enterprise experts. Leaders from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region attended the event and delivered a speech.

Jiang Xueqin, director of Ningxia Horticultural Technology Promotion Station, said in his opening speech that this training is a strong support for the green and sustainable development of local agricultural cooperatives, and that cross-border exchanges and learning among all parties in the industry, academia and research will inject a new impetus to promote the quality and efficiency of Ningxia's fresh agricultural products.

In this training, Zhou Hui, associate researcher from the Institute of Agriculture Economics and Development, gave an in-depth explanation of the points of food safety management, product quality and safety assurance and sustainable management of fresh produce production bases, and introduced the national requirements for the development of green agriculture and the latest relevant policies.

This training activity, in response to the demand of vegetable cooperatives to improve the application level of agricultural and planting technology, specially invited Li Lei, associate researcher from the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, to introduce leafy vegetable disease prevention and control technology, from the main types of vegetable diseases and the trend of occurrence to the prevention and control technology, which provided technical guidance and expert viewpoints for practitioners in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables.

This session, presented by Ma Yue, Technical Manager of Copeland Environmental Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd, provides an in-depth analysis of fresh fruit and vegetable pre-cooling and preservation technology at the origin, which provides scientific solutions for agricultural products to maintain freshness and extend shelf life.

General Manager Zhao Junlong from Ningxia Xinhua Department Store Modern Logistics Co., Ltd. shared the exploration and practical experience of Xinhua Department Store in adopting fresh fruit and vegetable reusable plastic crates in the supply chain, and made an appeal to welcome more cooperatives to join the action of recycling and sharing reusable plastic crates, and to jointly build a green, environmentally friendly and efficient supply chain system of fresh fruits and vegetables, so as to help farmers and enrich them.

Finally, representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the participating cooperatives held in-depth exchanges and discussions on how to drive more farmers in Ningxia to improve their awareness and capacity of green standardized production through the training program.

After the training, Mr. Wang Wenhua, Deputy Secretary General of China Chain Store and Franchise Association (CCFA), and Mr. Jiang Xueqin, Station Director of Ningxia Horticultural Technology Promotion Station, issued "Level 2 Trainer" certificates of the SAFE project to the representatives of 131 cooperatives who participated in the training.

This training activity not only provides participants with learning opportunities, but also provides effective support for the sustainable development of cooperatives. Through this thematic training, it is expected to further stimulate the innovative vitality of cooperatives, promote the circulation of agricultural products in a more sustainable direction, and inject new vitality into the green development of the agricultural industry.
